October update

Updated: Jan 13, 2022

In October, we…

  • Signed up BP, Costain, Lloyd’s, Rockrose and TAQA to the AXIS Pledge

  • Launched our AXIS Resources page, pulling together the very best support material on gender balance for individuals and organisations

  • Confirmed Deirdre Michie, OGUK CEO, will continue on as our industry sponsor into 2020

  • Saw our vice-chair Erica Kinmond join the gender pay gap panel at the Diversity in Energy Summit in London

  • Joined Subsea 7’s Festival of Learning to present on the business case for gender balance

  • Attended the first meeting of the OGUK D&I group – lots of good movement in this space, look out for their formal launch early 2020

  • Celebrated at:

- The OGUK Awards – congratulations to CNR on their D&I win! (look out for a case study on their D&I journey soon)

- The WISE Awards – congratulations to Karen Blanc as runner-up Woman in Industry 2019

- The Herald & GenAnalytics Diversity Awards – congratulations to Age Scotland and committee member Susan Gordon as runner-up in the Age Inclusive Award category

  • And finally, this month we bid a fond farewell to committee members Elizabeth McAlpine and James Overton, who both step down to focus on new work challenges. We thank you both for your commitment over the years, and look forward to staying in touch! In their place, I’d like to thank current committee member Sarah Clark for taking on the busy role of committee secretary, and I’m delighted to welcome Wigdan Hamour, who now joins us to take on a new committee role as treasurer.

Coming soon…

  • Our final AXIS Network event of 2019 is this Friday – we look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible – look out for final event details in your inboxes later today!
