About the event
Menopause. You’d be forgiven for not having it on the top of your list when it comes to fun topics to discuss at work.
But it’s experienced directly by half our population, so if that’s not you personally, then it’s your work colleague, partner, sister, mum, auntie or friend.
This session will keep it real with our expert panel covering the statistics, the science, the symptoms, and the workplace implications for those experiencing menopause. We’ll also have plenty of time for tackling your questions.
Come along and help us to break the silence and start this important conversation.
You’ll leave with a better understanding of menopause and equipped with our pick of resources to help you best prepare to handle it in the workplace.
This conversation with Liz Clayton-Jones will be facilitated by Susan Gordon, Leith Gordon Ltd, AXIS Committee member. They will be joined by Dan Warrick, our sponsor from Spirit Energy, to help explore this topic from a male perspective. There will also be plenty of opportunity for hearing your views and questions.

Speakers:
Liz Clayton-Jones, Director, Beehive Performance Ltd
With a diverse career of over three decades within a global corporate environment, mostly aligned to science and technical functions, Liz has developed a deep understanding of the workings of complex organisations and the people who serve them. With much of the time spent focused on enterprise-wide engagement, high performance team collaboration and the inclusion of diverse thinking and working styles, she has great knowledge and experience of what makes individuals, teams and businesses successful through their people.
Liz also has personal experience of holding down a high performance corporate role whilst experiencing a decade-long journey through menopause. Her exposure to this life stage has had impacts on both work and home life. This plus the varied reactions to it, have led her to champion discussions within businesses to ensure that the talent and experience of women at this life stage are not lost.
Dan Warrick, Asset Manager, Spirit Energy
Dan has worked in the oil and gas industry for over 20 years in various roles. He is a member of the gender balance network in Spirit helping build equality of opportunity enabling all genders to succeed. Dan admits he doesn’t have a clue about the Menopause, but believes that understanding the menopause can help men be more aware, and improve relationships not only in the workplace but in their personal lives too.
Susan Gordon, Leith Gordon Ltd
Susan is a 'woman of a certain age’, and proud of it. She’s been around the oil & gas industry both in the UK and internationally since 1988 and now runs her own coaching business. As a member of the AXIS Committee, she volunteered to facilitate this session as she can offer another perspective on the taboo topic of menopause - that being is she is probably one of the few lucky ladies who has suffered few, if any of the many and varied menopausal symptoms. And so that means she too wants to fully understand this topic.
