On the 22nd June 2023, the AXIS Network Aberdeen held an #IAmRemarkable workshop, hosted by Rachel Mackay.
#IAmRemarkable is a movement aimed at everyone, including underrepresented groups to encourage self-promotion, as part of career development and personal progression.
It can be hard to share our achievements in a way that feels authentic. In interviews, in performance reviews, in the everyday.
Have you ever thought - I can't share that, that will sound like I'm bragging.
One of the things people often say in the workshops is that their achievements aren't "big enough" to share.
In June's workshop, a participant shared that they were good at setting boundaries and keeping them. They felt it was a smaller thing when compared to other shares.
And yet it was the thing that most of the participants were keen to know more about.
Not only will sharing your achievements boost your confidence, but it also inspires others too.
We encourage you to write down all of your achievements, both in your personal and professional life.
And then say them out loud.
It is likely to feel strange, to begin with.
The more you practice though, the easier it will become.
Thank you to those that came to the workshop. Your input, engagement, and openness were inspiring.
